Mezcal is an important beverage in Oaxacan culture, often sipped during gatherings, celebrations, and even at funerals. It is typically served in glass or clay mezcaleros, or in jicaras, and sometimes even in reeds.
—Inspired by this tradition, I decided to design my own version of a ceramic mezcalero.
— The versatility of this project lies in its range of glaze colors, allowing for customization to suit individual tastes and complement any environment. Whether in a bustling urban bar or a serene countryside retreat, these mezcaleros effortlessly blend in.
— Thanks to the wide-mouth design, aromas are released from the volatile alcohols on the surface of the mezcal. With a larger surface area, more aromas can be perceived while drinking. Simultaneously, the wide mouth helps prevent spills when swirling the liquid.
— Two different shapes.
— Ceramic process.
